Women Know What Works at IAS 2025, Kigali
A dynamic group of women with HIV – as leaders, advocates and international experts – from around the world shared experiences and solutions at a pre-conference event at IAS 2025, the 13th Conference on HIV Science hosted by the International AIDS Society in Rwanda in July.

Hosted by Sweden’s Posithiva Gruppen and supported by ASHM and Gilead Sciences, the event Women Know What Works: Celebrating the successes of women living with HIV in the global response, highlighted the impact of HIV on young women, mothers, trans women and sex workers. But in this new era of international aid funding cuts to global HIV programs, the event also carried an important ‘call to action’.
